10 Reasons To Honor Your Highly Sensitive Nature

Reasons to honor your highly sensitive nature

You ask yourself how you can live a happy life WITHOUT giving up your high sensitivity, hmm?

Wanna be who you REALLY are?

Your most authentic self?

Then check this out:

There are so many reasons why you absolutely can choose BOTH yourself AND happiness…

So many good reasons why it’s a GREAT thing to be a highly sensitive person.

Unfortunately, society thinks differently.

We are told to ‘toughen up’ (however this may work?) … to be more fun … to simply enjoy life …

…But you and me … we both know that this is IMPOSSIBLE, because we’re overwhelmed by our environment, people, and stimuli 24/7 …

So what to do?

Good question!

Let me share a bit about myself and my story:

Me, I didn’t honor my sensitivity throughout most of my life. I thought that I was weird, that there was something entirely wrong with me, that I had to change to fit into society … and I did (and guess what?) …

…Yep, it didn’t work!

I STILL felt misunderstood and miserable…

In effect: The harder I tried, the more and more frustrated I became.

Then, I decided for myself that there had to be a deeper meaning, a deeper reason WHY I was the way I was. And I began my highly sensitive journey …

That’s where it ALL started to change…

I considered my high sensitivity as a precious gift.

And I began to look for ways to use it for GOOD.

Telling you what happened next goes beyond the scope of this blog post …

But here’s what I can do for you NOW:

I came to the realization that acknowledging myself and my special nature has been one of the most profound things I’ve ever done in my life.

Appreciating myself for who I am has made such a big difference.

Before, I was always looking for outside validation and appreciation…

Now, I’m looking after myself first … for my well-being … and, in turn, am able to help and assist other people more effectively.

And it has NOTHING to do with becoming self-centered, egoistic or cold-hearted.

So, let me share this precious gift and experience with you.

Let me give you my TOP 10 reasons for honoring yourself here.

10 Reasons To Honor Your Highly Sensitive Nature And Yourself:

  1. Vulnerability.
That’s #1. If you dare to be open and vulnerable, you allow the magic entering your life. This is NOT about “The Secret” or other L.o.A. stuff (Law of Attraction*) … it’s about you accepting reality for what it is (you give meaning to any occurrence) and transforming lower energies (anger, frustration etc.) into higher energies (happiness, good luck etc.) … Thus, making you feel good about yourself and life.*The Law of Attraction states that “if you have a specific desire and focus joyfully on that desire, it will be fulfilled.” That’s B.S. In order to achieve ANY worthwhile goal, you got to ACT. ACTION is the key. Many people think they just need to think positively (which is important!) … but they forget to act (which is necessary!).Ok, let’s move on …
  2. Sensitivity.
Surrounding yourself with like-minded, positive people has a bigger, more positive influence on you than “normal-sensitive” people. But mind, that also the reverse is true: If you surround yourself with negative, cynical people you tend to become more negative and cynical the longer you stay with them. Therefore, I’m still so grateful that I got to know and decided to network with positive people only.
  3. Desire For Excellence.
You want to perform at your personal best and improve, develop and grow. Foster this desire! It’s a driving force to your overall happiness and fulfillment. Beware, the perfection trap. Remind yourself to shoot for excellence and progress NOT for unobtainable perfection! (It doesn’t help anybody, and will definitely destroy your self-esteem and lead to depression. Trust me, I’ve been there and know what I’m talking about.)
  4. Drive For Freedom & Independence.
Self-explanatory. And the best thing, it’s totally possible! The key to obtaining it is to live present (here in this very moment) and making authentic choices. ALL else will get you there.
  5. Responsibility.
You don’t like to be controlled or told what to do. That’s why many HSP prefer to work alone and/or be self-employed. You see your life as more than merely working paycheck to paycheck. You’re willing to sacrifice if it helps you use your time and resources to create something that helps others and yourself.
  6. Loyalty.
You think long-term and are interested in things that last. You’re conscientious and dutiful. Just take care of NOT staying loyal to a cause or person/company because of pity. (By the way, I’m still working on that, too!)
  7. Intuition.
You’re more in tune with the invisible world, the spiritual dimension of life and your highest self. You may even predict future events or have vivid dreams
  8. Creativity & Vivid Imagination.
Most famous writers, innovators, businesspeople, creators who’ve sustainably shaped the world were HSP. They, too, brought a new perspective to how things were handled.
  9. Empathy.
You truly comprehend someone else. This makes you an outstanding counselor, coach and helping professional since you can fully understand their situation and come up with a unique solution.
  10. Right-brain People Are The Future.
The global economy is looking for more and more people who’re excellent at creative tasks – YOU. Besides, highly sensitive people are destined for the role of the new leaders as their leadership style helps others be given complete expression.
