Here’s My New 9-to-5

October 10, 2016

No, I’m not talking about a J.O.B. (= just over broke) here.

Not the typical nine-to-five.

As you know, I’m not a big fan of that.

No, today it’s about sleep.

But before we get into this, let me ask you a question:

How much sleep do you get? And, How much QUALITY sleep do you get?

See, what I’m currently experimenting with is to establish a sleeping rhythm from 9 pm till 5 am. That’s 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep (if everything is proceeding as my Sith powers have foreseen).

That’s my new 9-to-5.

Here’s why I do it:

What does it help if you sleep less … if that leads to your being exhausted, unfocused, and—thus—unproductive all day long?

In short, what does it help if less sleep means you hating your life?

Plus, the attitude of a winner.

Losers think they don’t need to prepare.

A winner simply prepares. Why?

Because he knows what it takes to succeed and he DOES what is required of him.

Nothing less.

So, he makes sure to get enough sleep.

As a side-note, numerous studies have been conducted over the last decades to measure sleep and overall productivity …

…And there isn’t a single one (at least, of which MMMontreal is aware of) that states that 4 hours of sleep are enough.

Also from my own research and experience, I conclude, we shall make sure to get up to 7-8 hours of high quality sleep.

But, hey, it’s up to you. After all, this is YOUR life. Live as YOU please!

FACT: There is a difference between seven hours of uninterrupted sleep and ten hours of bad sleep. You experience this when you wake up after having slept for 10+ hours … and still feel exhausted.

Want to know my little dirty secret to sleeping like a king?

Here it is:

It depends on what you do
BEFORE going to bed at night,
and AFTER waking up
in the morning.

Or, in one word:

Routine.

ALL successful people have a routine—and they follow that routine religiously … Every. Single. Day.

So should you (if you want more/better sleep).

For example, I have a morning AND an evening/night routine.

To calm myself down for the night, and to get myself in the right mindset for the day. It’s a daily discipline.

Yes, even if you finally live a more meaningful life on your own terms …

…You STILL got to fight against all sorts of external forces (i.e. social norms, restrictions, limiting beliefs, your own inner laziness, …).

Anyway. That’s my little dirty secret for sleeping like a king.

If you, too, want to learn how to live (and master the art of living) a more meaningful life that’s just right for you … PLUS, get better sleep to stay focused and productive and feel great all day long …
