Creating a Vision Board For MLM Success

December 21, 2014

In my blog article “Make the Shift: Creating an Abundance Mentality”, I talk about the phenomenon what we focus on most in our lives EXPANDS.

Creating a Vision BoardOne method I propose is to make a list of all the things you want in your life.

I also suggest creating a vision board and magic folder.
But what exactly do I mean by this?

Well … now I want to show you what it’s all about.

MLM Mindset:

Visualization – Why To Visualize?

That’s a very good question!

First, be aware that it has been scientifically proven that our subconscious mind can’t distinguish between reality and something that’s only in your mind – your imagination.

If you see and feel yourself possessing a specific thing over and over again, it’s more likely that you attract it because your subconscious mind is actively seeking ways to guide you toward that specific thing.

Visualization is the exact process of focusing on a specific thing frequently.

How To Visualize for MLM Success

  • Closing your eyes and imagining a bright future for yourself.
(I, personally, bring myself in a deep state of focus and calmness by meditating before.) Then: Really sensing your vision. “How does it look like?”, “how does it feel like?”, “what smells do I smell?”, “what do I notice?”, “what do I hear?”, …
  • Creating a vision board, book, magic folder, or a combination of them:
This helps you to remind yourself throughout the day what you want from life and makes it much more likely that you accomplish your goals faster.
This may also support you while visualizing because you’re now more aware of what you want; how every area of your life looks like.

Do I really need to make a vision board?

No, you don’t need to. You also don’t need to make a magic folder or create something similar. You don’t even need to visualize, at all.

However, if MLM success is one of your main goals, a daily reminder – in the form of a vision board – helps you tremendously in realizing your goals way faster.

In other words, it’s a constant reminder to you how your life is going to look like. This’ll push you forward to take the action necessary even if you feel uncomfortable and/or have fear stepping out of your comfort zone.

Life is going to throw you challenges. It’s your job to choose the ones that inspire you and make you and your business grow, not the ones that don’t.

“If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it.” – William Arthur Ward, American writer

The main purpose of a vision board is to feed your mind with inspirational images of things and experiences you want to have and make.

Remember that if you want to live an extraordinary life or a life in freedom and happiness, you need to think and act differently from most folks who’re buying into the idea of getting rich old, doing a job 9-5 and dealing their free weekend for 5 days of work every single week of the year (except maybe 2 weeks for vacation).

Don’t get me wrong here. I’ve neither anything against jobs nor against people living this kind of lifestyle. But for me it’s not fulfilling.

Doing a job is draining my energy levels pretty quick, there isn’t a thing I’m looking forward for attending the next working day, AND I don’t like to depend on someone else; I want to be in charge of my own life.

And in order to take control of your own life, you need to take decisive action as I said before.

“Thinking outside of the box is not enough – you’ve to ACT outside of the box. Think first, then take action. Because if there’s no new action, you’re just wasting your time.” – Mario Montreal

In addition, you’ve to internalize success habits that serve you to achieve your goals. Success habits may include expressing gratitude, visualization, appreciating yourself, taking responsibility, surrounding yourself with inspirational people, …

It’ll also help you focus on what you do want in life compared to what you don’t want. So, take some time TODAY and start making your own vision board.

Before we’re now going into the process of how to creating a vision board for MLM success, I want to briefly share with you what I mean by the term “magic folder”.

A “magic folder” is, simply put, the mobile version of your vision board plus additional benefits.

In the following, I’m going to show you how to make a vision board first, before we cover our magic folder.

Here’s why I recommend using both – a vision board and a magic folder – to achieve ultimate results:

  • a Vision Board is more vivid and lively
  • a Vision board makes it easier for you to change the images (using pins)
  • a Magic Folder includes daily and immediate goal(s) and may contain affirmations, too
  • a Magic Folder is more useful if you travel often (“portable/mobile vision board”)

Okay, now let’s get started:

HOW TO MAKE A VISION BOARD
Step-By-Step

How To Make a Vision Board

In order to create an inspirational board for yourself, you just need a few things that you can easily get from your art supplies shop or any other place that has got:

Pins, a Picture Frame, and Paper.

We’re using pins because this makes it way easier to unpin achieved aims and make room for new desires.

Before you begin to find images, make sure that you’ve got your main goal, your reason why you take action. Don’t skip this step. It’s the most important one if you want to create a vision board that actually works.

Now, you’re searching for images, either using your own or (in case you don’t have a photo of your dream car or house) you can use google images search for suitable high quality pictures that make your eyes sparkle with joy.

The next steps will knock your socks off: You’re printing out your images with a printer, cutting them off with scissors, and pinning them on your vision board (picture frame). :)

Now, you’re looking for a spot in your house that you’re passing by often and put your vision board there, so you see’ll  your vision several times during the day.

A few IMPORTANT notes to keep in mind:

  • Your main goal is in the middle of the frame.
  • Your main goal is your big vision and is written in present tense as if you’ve already achieved it!
  • Your main goal is worded positively (“I’m living a fulfilled life.”, “I’m the best version of myself and…”, …)
  • You use only images that are inspiring to YOU. It’s YOUR life.
    Choose what’s emotionally affecting YOU.
  • Revisiting your vision several times throughout the day is very powerful, thus position it at a place you’re passing by frequently.

How To Make a Magic Folder

Your magic folder is your “Vision Board 2.0”.

Yeah right, I’m saying “Vision Board 2.0” because it offers additional benefits:

  1. First, you keep track with your daily goals as well as your long-term goals* by making convenient to-do-lists.
  2. Second, you’ve enough room for further materials. This can be an affirmations list (like this), a motivational quotes page, or something similar to stay on course to taking decisive action toward achieving your goals.
  3. It’s now all in one place. This helps your subconscious mind notice progress. In return, this’ll keep you motivated.

[*monitor your weekly, monthly, yearly, and lifetime goals (top 3 for each goal)]

For the following instructions, you need an image editing program.
For our purposes a FREE program like Gimp does the job just as well.
(I recommend a resolution that fits your screen and folder. Me, I personally use 1920×1080 with a white background and black font.)

How It Exactly Works

[The first three steps are the same ones to create a vision board]

  1. Open Gimp. Know your vision and write it in the middle. This is your main goal. (In order to do the first step right, take a look at the “Important Notes” section.)
  2. Find images that emotionally affect you, so you feel enthusiastic when you regard your magic folder.
  3. Save and print out your piece of art and stick it on the front of your folder.
  4. Make a TO-DO-LIST every day: Grab a sheet of paper and handwrite (very important!) your top 3 daily goals & your immediate goal**.
Add the date of today on top.
  5. Put your to-do-list somewhere you pass by frequently.
  6. Cross out each task after finishing it.
At the end of the day, you’re supposed to have all 3 goals crossed out.
  7. File your processed to-do-list in your Magic Folder.
This tells your subconscious mind that you’re productive and come closer to your goal. This keeps you motivated.

[**Immediate goal: You decide the time frame, but it has to be achievable and challenging at the same time. I recommend 1-3 months.]

The main reason why your immediate goal is supposed to be achievable is that you need these goals to work toward a – from where we stand – insurmountably seeming vision.

And if you can’t achieve your goals because you set unrealistic goals in the beginning you’re doomed to fail. Then, it’s just a matter of time until you’ll leave and quit. Don’t let that happen to you!

Set realistic immediate goals. You do this step daily. Don’t worry, it’ll soon become an addictive habit, because you realize your progression.

Remember that if you don’t accomplish your top 3 daily goals that you must do now to achieve your immediate goal, you won’t achieve your immediate goal. And if you don’t achieve your immediate goal, you won’t fulfil your vision.

So, set 3 goals per day and work toward a realistic, but challenging immediate goal.

How you set a “realistic but challenging” immediate goal? If you haven’t done yet, I highly recommend you to find a mentor, someone who makes a workable plan for you, monitors your progress, and helps you review your actions.

That’s it.

ADDITIONAL BENEFIT: Creating a Magic Folder gives you the option to use it as a desktop background and on other devices as well. This is very powerful. Since I decided to really work out a powerful wallpaper and use it as a background on all my devices, it has helped me tremendously in my life and business.

Take Care and All the Best,

Mario Montreal
