Aha, the good old do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do-crap-advice.
Doing one thing one way, then teaching it the other.
Or, even worse, teaching random ideas before taking action oneself.
Let’s look at some examples to make it more tangible.
Here we go:
- The fat man who teaches a class on how to lose weight.
- The broke friend who tells you about a new money-making opportunity.
- The financial expert who promotes mutual funds as a way to get rich (while getting rich herself through selling her advice via books, speeches, seminars, newsletters, you name it … NOT through MF).
- The advice you get from XYZ uncle or aunt to study a certain subject because it’s “in-demand,” “prestigious,” or “high-paying” (while they’ve been through the same shit and have gotten nowhere in their lives).
- People who never lacked confidence and belief in themselves—hence, have never been in your position—now advising you to “fake it till you make it.” (Hint: It doesn’t work long-term.)
- And the list goes on.
Well… in the end, it’s up to you.
You got to decide whether you want to listen to people who barely know you, and have their own self-interest in mind …
…Or, if you want to do the things that are most meaningful TO YOU.
Up to you,
