Do you feel the pressure to conform? To be “normal?”
IF so, I urge you not to give in to this feeling. Don’t back down.
Do the opposite of what everyone around you does.
Here’s why.
As soon as you try to be like everyone else, you lose your most precious asset:
YOU.
(Plus, your passion for life!)
You lose your uniqueness. Your style. Your personality.
And—in today’s world—nothing’s more valuable.
But it gets even worse
It’s not only about you losing your uniqueness…
…You also do (or don’t do!) a bunch of other activities that can have horrific consequences for your life in the long-run.
How? Well, the majority of people accept to be mediocre; they choose short-term pleasure over long-term pain.
They fear rejection and criticism. They embrace comfort and ease—not realizing that there’ll always be challenges. We can either embrace them directly and become better, or fall for the illusion of comfort.
A word of truth
I’ve been there, done that, and never want to go back. It’s the easy road to conform to society’s rules and social norms; a dead-end track.
It is, however, the road less traveled that makes life worth living.
Yes, it IS hard. It IS difficult. It IS dangerous. How badly do you want change?
The DOs and DON’Ts
Most people aren’t willing to do whatever it takes to improve their lives; they aren’t willing to make sacrifices in the short-term for long-term success. What about you? Are you willing to do WHATEVER it takes?
Following, a few examples:
- Most people don’t exercise; Exercise daily.
- Most people don’t eat healthy; Eat healthy.
- Most people read “the news” ; Read uplifting content.
- Most people complain about their problems; Focus on the solution.
- Most people don’t get enough sleep; Sleep 7-8 hours.
- Most people watch TV for hours a day; Get a life.
Above all, be grateful for life. (Something most people aren’t, apparently.)
