No, we’re not talking about that Miguel song.
Also not about the Kendrick Lamar remix.
Nope.
Today it’s about you.
More specifically, your behavior towards addictions.
For some people, it’s alcohol. (Beer, vodka, gin, tequila… all that good shit that isn’t good for you in high doses.) For others, it’s marijuana. Or cigarettes. Or porn. Or sex. Or work. Or unhealthy self-expression.
The list goes on…
It can also take the shape of procrastination, devastation, depression. Well, whatever it is for you, know that you’re in charge—because you are. You probably don’t have any major mental injuries (that is, you can read this post right here). Thus, you are in control of what you can control. Duh…
…Maybe.
Since what sounds easy isn’t always as easy as it sounds.
Like taking action, for example.
Many people “know” what they need to do in order to achieve a certain result.
- If you wanna lose weight, you exercise and eat healthy—every single day.
- If you wanna build a successful business, you get great at business-related skills and work your ass off—every single day.
- If you wanna get a promotion at work, you add more value to the company than anyone else is doing—every single day.
- If you wanna be confident, you show up with energy and act in spite of fear—every single day.
- If you wanna do X, you do Y—every single day.
Simple.
No-brainers.
Yet few follow through.
Why? Because it’s hard, and the temptation is so seductive.
Resist the urge.
Resist it.
And take action today.
