How to Make Great Decisions
[REVISED & UPDATED]
This is where Trip #3 ended.
Quick recap: Back then, we learned perceptive and inspiring insights on the topic of How to Make Great Decisions.
So what changed? What’s new this time?
Well… this time we’re revisiting the decision-making process differently.
In other words, the foundation stays the same; what changes are simple—yet profound—tweaks to the setup.
These tweaks and distinctions, three to be precise, add a whole new complexion to the process—and help you get even better at making small (and big) decisions in no time at all.
It is what it is; a revised and updated version of the already solid original.
Enough said.
Let’s begin, shall we?
—INSPIRING INSIGHTS—

- RECENTLY ON THE JOURNEY: We talked about the fact that it is tough to make decisions. Further we concluded that a great decision takes time, facts, research, and due diligence. And some more. You got to take a stand; course-correct if you get stuck and need to adjust your approach. Finally taking full responsibility and accountability for your entire life, and not falling into The Perfection Trap (i.e., analysis paralysis) is required. In sum, that’s Trip #3. Now what?
- WHY WE NEED TO REVISIT AND REVISE IT. Things change, we grow. And, sometimes, even I forget to mention a few things here and there. Plus, we have the ability to learn new things along the journey. Yep, that also applies to the Journey Guide; I almost always learn new things—every single day. (No bragging!) Following, additional insights. Read on to see what’s new.
- SMALL TWEAKS AND DISTINCTIONS. First things first, the fundamentals stay the same. Make great decisions by these four steps: (1) take your time to getting the facts right, and doing proper research and due diligence on your part; (2) take a stand for your decision; (3) course-correct if necessary; (4) be responsible and accountable. What changes are small tweaks in the setup…
- REVISED ADVICE: Three things. First, get your emotions out of the way—be stoic, calm, and take a rational approach; second, detach yourself from the outcome—know that you can always try a different approach until you reach your desired result; third, play the long game—though there’s no guarantee that you’ll live long, there’s also no guarantee that you’ll die soon.
- WHAT IT ALL COMES DOWN TO. Get it that your decisions are shaping your life forever and will last for a lifetime. Literally. See and appreciate life for what it really is, not how you want it to be. Or, be (un)happy living a fucking illusion. What’s next? What should you do? This. Apply your knowledge; keep taking consistent and productive action. Do that.
And, as always:
Enjoy the Journey,
