Who Am I? (Jason Bourne Theme)

September 27, 2016

Yesterday, I went to the cinema to watch “Jason Bourne.”

Having watched all previous movies and now the fifth one … I don’t want to spoil here. (Especially, if you want to watch the movie and haven’t seen it yet.)

So let’s talk about the big picture stuff.

What I like most about the whole series is the theme of “Who Am I?”

And I strongly believe that’s why these movies have been so successful, apart from Matt Damon (or Jeremy Renner as Aaron Cross, Bourne 4) in the main character’s role.

NOTE: In case you’re not familiar with the Bourne franchise, it’s basically a story about a CIA assassin with memory loss (Jason Bourne) who does all he can to figure out who he really is. Along his journey, he learns that he’s much more skillful than he thought. Further he uncovers several secrets that could be a huge embarrassment to the CIA. That’s why he’s chased during most of his journey, and only narrowly escapes numerous attempts on his life. Since then Jason Bourne knows that he can either go into hiding, or go after the men who want to see him dead.

Now, it’s your turn:

Who are you? And, how do you find it out?

The boring answer: Trial and error.

Just like Matt Damon in Bourne, you try to unravel your past, follow different traces that might lead you towards your true identity (or further away) …

…No way around that. Wait.

OR:

You learn from people who’ve been there done that.

People who have questioned themselves (and life) for what-the-hell-they-were-put-on-earth … and figured it out.

So, if you want to find out who you really are, rediscover the best within yourself, and live a more meaningful life that’s just right for you …

…without all the headaches and unnecessary detours …
