Aha, the complainer.
Great! (I love these guys. Seriously.)
Here’s what I got some time ago (I DIDN’T edit the typos):
Schreib doch mal Deutsch ,dann fühlen sich auch Andere angesprochen ,Danke ,denn nicht jeder mag Englisch”
Three things, but first I better translate it for you.
Here’s the translation:
“[I suggest you] Write in German, so that others feel concerned/are reached. Thanks, because not everyone likes English.”
Now, the three things.
- First, I believe everyone should speak—at least the very least—understand basic English. Because if you don’t, you’re dead in the water.
- Second, I (do my utmost best to) write simple English.
- Third, more people would be reached. Ok, end of discussion. I mean, it’s ridiculous like life sometimes. How many people on earth understand simple English VS the people who understand simple German? You get it. It’s obvious.
Want to know my three reasons why I write in English in the first place?
Here they are:
- Formerly frustrated with myself and life, I turned my life around while I traveled to (and lived in) Sydney, Australia back in 2013 and 2014. On top of that I traveled to the US in the same time period, improved my own English skills by heaps. So, for me it doesn’t matter that I’m currently living in Germany again—I keep on improving my English every single day. So, why not use it professionally?
- Additionally, I want to help as many people as possible with my unique life experience up to this point, my research, and my overall know-how. Reaching a global audience is possible (thank you, Internet!)—if you communicate in English.
- I LOVE the English language. I don’t know what it is; maybe the simplicity, maybe the sounds …whatever. I simply like to hear it and use it myself. So, yeah, that’s reason #3.
And there you have it.
