How important is it to building credibility with your prospects if you just started out in Direct Sales respectively Network Marketing / MLM?
There’re people telling you need a lot of testimonials to back up your credibility. And there’re others telling you it’s sufficient to concentrate on delivering top notch content and adding value.
Now, how do you find out to whom you should listen when it comes to creating MLM success?
First off, one thing that intimidates a lot of newbies is creating content or sharing knowledge they already gained through seminars, books, or audio tapes.
They feel like not being allowed to share this content because they don’t have enough credibility yet.
The question, however, is: “When do you have enough credibility to be allowed?”
The answer is simple: As soon as this one specific person gives you permission;
YOU!

You’re the only one who decides what is possible for you and what isn’t.
Hence, be bold and screw things up! :) This includes making mistakes and failing forward, so you become a better entrepreneur.
Know that you’ve the right to create awesome content! You’re allowed!
On top of that, you shouldn’t worry too much about being credible or not because this only demonstrates one thing: You concentrate more on yourself than on helping other people advance in their lives.
You worry how your prospects perceive you, how your family and friends look at your new enterprise… instead of focusing on your audience and their needs.
You’ll see that everything becomes much easier as soon as you shift your focus from judging yourself to helping your prospects by over-delivering on value and being your most genuine self.
If you now still think you need credibility to be allowed to go out there and play a bigger game… think again.
And – even more important – re-read the previous sentences again.
All successful people in Sales and Marketing started out the same way as you do! They shifted their focus to delivering value and helping people, and not looking at their current situation, their lack of credibility etc.
To be straight forward with you: Saying that you need more credibility to go out there and deliver results is a lame excuse to procrastinate and not taking action!
“But what shall I blog about? I don’t have any quality stuff to share with other people!”
Oh, really?
What’s about using other people’s content and creating your own unique version of it?
Aha, here we go!
By the way, that’s not stealing. It’s getting inspired and making things better.
Keep in mind that many people haven’t got the time and/or resources to attend the seminars you went to, or read the book you read last week… but they’d be very glad hearing it from you via video, audio, blog post, …
… where the content is chunked down to a few minutes!

Building Credibility – What It Really Takes!
Don’t get me wrong. Building credibility is crucial, but most people make it appear bigger and more complicated than it actually is.
Remember people join you because of the stories you share and their ambitions are in alignment with your opportunity.
Quality prospects don’t make their success depend on anyone else. It doesn’t matter where you or anyone else in your organization is at the moment.
It only matters to them that you’ve a big vision for MLM success. That’s what your prospects are either consciously or unconsciously looking for (e.g. when they’re testing you by asking tricky questions).
It’s also more important that you walk the walk instead of merely talk the talk. Do what you commit yourself to do. Follow through! This is building credibility. This’ll also build confidence and boost your self-esteem.
Moreover, building credibility happens by adding value to other people, helping them genuinely, and keep your word. Your credibility can be best tracked by your business’ growth.
