SUMMARY

Originally, I wanted to share insight on a complete different topic with you today …

Something completely different, but then…

…I decided to go out to do some running exercises … and suddenly …

I remembered a very important topic I haven’t covered yet, but I knew it may be helpful for you to know (because sooner than later you will come across this one, if you haven’t already.)

(Most definitely, great ideas come when you aren’t trying.)

So what is this episode ALL ABOUT?

Without long, boring and, especially, unnecessary build-up here it is:

Personal Development Books. Yep right, the books by other people advising you on a specific topic to better your life. Watch the video above, to hear my thoughts and experiences on this topic now.

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

1. Positive Input

…is essential for your reaching success in ANY area of your life. Period. You gotta confront your brain with new insight, leveraging the knowledge of other people who are ALREADY where you want to be (or, at least, have figured a way out to get there!)

2. Next, …

You look for what works (has worked) for them, and reverse engineer the whole process. (I didn’t say “copy” them but MODEL them, i.e. put your own spin on it. More on that in the actual video.) Otherwise, you stay where you don’t want to be! You’re better than that. Also remember that success leaves clues.

Note: If you just apply these first TWO STEPS, you’re already ten times ahead of the majority of people out there in the world. You belong to the group of people who ACTUALLY APPLY what they’re learning.

3. Beware Of The So-called “Paradox Of Preaching” A.K.A. “Paradox Of Practice.”

Listen carefully and think critically; is that what they say also what they do? If not, don’t listen. Do what they do, not what they tell you to do, right? (It’s also not enough if people share from the heart if they’ve no data or life experience to cover their claims. Example: One of the worst kinds of seminars I ever attended was one where the speaker shared a lot of motivational stories with us how he got financially free. Yep, with all the poor family background, seeing an entrepreneurial opportunity, got rich, bought house, traveled etc. There might be nothing particularly wrong with that … BUT he didn’t give us any tools on HOW TO achieve similar results. So, look out for people who can show you step-by-step, how to achieve what you want to achieve WITHOUT you becoming someone you’re not.)

4. Ok That Was A Long Third One. Ready For Some More?

Gain own experience; have your own voice, your own opinion. I was pretty “lucky” that I was already and always an “action taker” in the first place—and that’s the main reason where I am today. What can be done? Although I didn’t go over this in the video here’s the BEST thing you can do: Travel (or at least brake your routine. Do something you’ve never ever done before. Of course, this doesn’t imply hurting yourself … just do something new, so you can gain a broader perspective.* For me, it was traveling from Germany to Sydney, Australia for 11 months. You don’t have to do that—just do something new.)

*Otherwise, you might be –unconsciously– indoctrinated by “gurus” or “self-help experts. Just saying.”

5. Find A Way To Apply Your Knowledge—Use What You’ve Got.

Why?

Because taking consistent action is the key to all achievement in life. IF you want to become a bestselling author, you got to write every day. If you want to become an actor, you got to “act”, in fact, every single day … you get the idea. There’s simply nothing more miserable than a smart person who’s not expressing himself and who’s not influencing others in a positive way.
